POND LIFE

As you all know we have 3 ornamental ponds to the front of the development. These we believe are an attractive and integral feature of Parkland Place and Wren Ways image.

Apart from being an attractive feature they also serve a practical purpose in that they are actually resevoirs for rain water that is drained off the numerous drains of the London Road roundabout.

The ponds have also become a thriving wildlife habitat. The ponds currently contain possibly hundreds of fish including Goldfish and Ruud. They are also currently teaming with Tadpoles.

On the ponds we currently have moor hens nesting and we have also seen the return of a pair of mallard ducks that last year produced more than one batch of chicks including one batch that totalled an incredible 11 chicks.

The ponds are there to be visually enjoyed by all residents and we hope that you appreciate their existence.

Wildlife update.

We have what i think is either a Housemartin or Swallow nesting under the eve of the building on the car park side.

Amazing how A)They "glue" their nests to the wall and B)That they feel happy nesting in an area where there is a high human presence.
